Almost forgot to write this post today! I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks, so these blog posts have been slipping my mind! This entry sees another awesome classic trance record make an appearance. Read on to find out more...

Trance music legend, Darren Tate, is making his second entry in the Smokin' Aces blog series under his Jurgen Vries moniker, bringing us a collaboration with a vocalist who burst into the UK celebrity limelight at the age of 11 years old. The vocalist in question is famed for her amazing ability at classical singing, however, she later branched out into pop music, acting and television presenting. If you hadn't already guessed, the singer goes by the name Charlotte Church, or CMC.

If you read the 19th entry of the Smokin' Aces blog series, Darren Tate really doesn't need much of an introduction. If you listened to the track of his I previously blogged about (called Winter), then you'll know that Darren has a knack of creating awesome vocal dance music tracks. This entry's tune is no different, and it was actually released before Winter was; the record in question is called 'The Opera Song (Brave New World)'. It's a song that I had forgotten about for a long time until a friend of mine mentioned it when we were reminiscing about old classic trance tracks the last time I saw him before lockdown began; it's been getting a lot of play-time on Spotify ever since.

The tune is epic. Powerful, beautiful, and lung-busting vocals mixed with energetic, euphoric trance melodies; clearly, a popular combination, as the track reached number three in the UK Singles Chart back in 2003. This is another example of why the late 90s and early 2000s were the best years for trance music; today's stuff just doesn't have the same impact!
